Mental Health Awareness - Time To Help One Another and Improve Our Health

Mental Health Awareness

This year has been tough for all of us which is why today we encourage you to support and raise awareness to better you and your loved ones mental health.

Sometimes it is the simplest of things that can help our mind, body and soul. Small changes lead to big differences to our lives and mental health and it starts by moving more, eating better and sometimes just getting out of your comfort zone.

Here is why a healthier lifestyle is so important for your inner health;

Eating healthier has an impact on your day to day mood. This is all about making healthier food choices and having a balance to your diet which is proven to instantly improve your mood, increase energy levels and help you to think clearer.

Make sure to have carbohydrates and eat regularly as this is how your body will get enough energy to power through each day. Proteins and healthy fats provide your brain with amino acids that help to regulate your thoughts and feelings.

These also ensure your body has all of the vitamins and minerals you need to be your best self, filled with bundles of energy and a great mood! Go and have a peek at our cookbook here for meal inspiration.

Exercising also allows you to feel more active and energised, motivating us to have a more productive day. When you are active your body produces endorphins (the happy hormone) which reduces your perceptions of pain, boosts your natural immunity and relaxes you. It is a natural mood booster especially when stressed and anxious. So you can feel good and look good at the same time, which will boost your self-esteem too.

Think about how you feel before a workout, you might sometimes lack the motivation to get up and do it, but how do you feel after you’ve done your workout? Probably one hundred times better! This is because of the release of endorphins related to stress.

So the key is, if you live a healthy lifestyle you’ll be on your way to living an overall better and happier life.
